Environmental Compliance Audit Cement Manufacturing Facility

Blackbird completed an environmental compliance audit of the largest cement plant in Canada. The plant has been operating in Alberta over 110 years and includes a quarry and landfill. The environmental compliance audit covered the following topics:

• Air Quality Management
• Waste Management
• Water Pollution Control
• Hazardous Materials Management
• Emergency and Spill Response

Criteria for the audit was taken from current environmental legal and other requirements as found in federal, provincial and local legislation, as well as Parts 3 and 4 of the Alberta Fire Code. Particular attention was paid to verify compliance with facility provincial approvals.
